In honor of the grassroots spirit of International Women’s Day, please join us for a night of joyful protest to promote reproductive justice.
Reproductive justice is defined as “the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities”. The term originated with a group of black female organizers in 1994 who went on to found the organization Sister Song.
Massachusetts is a leader in this field, having consistently upheld the right to bodily autonomy including establishing the Reproductive Justice Unit within the Attorney General’s office to ensure these rights in our state. The repeal of Roe v Wade has taken these rights away from so many.
Tides for Reproductive Freedom is dedicated to providing financial and practical support for people across race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, ethnicity, ability and history seeking access to abortion services. Our goal is to fill the funding and practical support gaps across the state by working directly with frontline communities. As members of these communities, Tides is equipped to do the necessary work of centering and working with people from these communities, and building collective power by investing in their leadership.
We'll see YOU on the dance floor.
